9 Helpful Pointers That Couples Should Do Before the Wedding Day

You’ll say your loving “I do” with your significant other in a few days and we know you’re more than prepared. But to prevent your plans from falling through the cracks, there are a few minor, but crucial, activities that you need to cross off your list.

We know wedding planning can be stressful and overwhelming, but with a little organization and preparation, you can ensure that everything runs smoothly on your big day. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind as you count down to your wedding:

1. Communicate with your vendors and confirm

Double-check that all your vendors have the correct date, time, and location for your wedding. Phone every single vendor, including your designated wedding catering in Toronto, to re-confirm your agreement with them to ensure that everyone is in accord, that everything is in order, and that there are no last-minute surprises.

2. Organize a wedding day timetable

Make a schedule for your wedding day, and distribute it to all bridal party members and relevant vendors. This will help keep everyone on the same page and ensure everything runs on schedule. Provide the site manager or wedding organizer with a schedule for the vendor delivery and setup times.

3. Take care of final payments

Take care of any final payments or outstanding balances for vendors so that you don’t have to worry about it on your wedding day, whether arranging payments via PayPal or assembling checks and cash. If the latter, place them in distinct envelopes and give them to your wedding day point person.

4. Designate your point person

You should make sure that your point person is reachable. Whether your bridal party is ready to go down the aisle or ask the DJ to play your couple’s theme song, this individual will probably be the one to give them a cue.

5. Make sure to send out invitations

Send out your invitations well before your wedding, and follow up with any guests who haven’t yet RSVP’d. This will help you get an accurate headcount and make any necessary adjustments to your seating arrangements or catering plans.

6. Schedule any beauty appointments

Be sure to get a good night’s sleep the night before your wedding and take care of yourself leading up to the big day. Weddings can be stressful, so make sure to give time for yourself. Schedule any quick cosmetic procedures you want to be done this week. Consider getting a facial, blowout, massage, mani-pedi, or family dental in Sarnia

This also applies to the groom; make sure his face is shaven (if that’s the look he wants) and that his hair is well-styled. Any experimental aesthetic procedures (such as face peels, laser resurfacing, hair coloring, and hair removal with a laser in Guelph) must be completed a few months beforehand, just in case they don’t go as planned.

7. Pack for your honeymoon

You should take special care with what is in your bag this time. Take the time to mindfully pack for your honeymoon that week, whether you’re swimming in the Bahamas or travelling around the world. Also, make arrangements for any pets or plants left behind. This will help you relax and enjoy your honeymoon without any added stress.

8. Practice your vows and speeches

Practice your vows and any other speeches you may be giving to feel more confident and prepared. The night before your wedding is the ideal time to review your vows before the big event.

9. Remember to relax and enjoy your special day

Above all, remember to relax and enjoy your special day. It’s a celebration of love and commitment, and you deserve to enjoy every moment. So take a deep breath, and savour every moment of your wedding day.
